My name is David Limiero, and we helped start Life Journey Christian Church in Bakersfield, California in the fall of 2003 with the help of Stadia, the New Thing Network, and a number of church partners. Along the way I’ve undergone a real personal transformation – away from an attraction-based (”if we build it, they will come”) approach to ministry aimed at the middle-class, to trying to figure out how to incarnate the gospel instead, especially among those whom society overlooks.
This is very much a work in progress, for me and for our church. We don’t claim to have any of the right answers, but I am convinced that we’re starting to ask the right questions. For now, we’re taking things one step – and one life– at a time.
